Dans un décret cosigné par le Président de la transition et son Premier ministre, la durée de la transition est fixée à 24 mois. Ce nouveau délai de la transition court à compter du 26 mars 2022. C’est dire que nous sommes à 21 mois de la fin de la transition.
Un an après sa prestation de serment, le président de la transition, le Colonel Assimi Goïta fixe enfin la durée de la « transition rectifiée ». Un nouvel engagement qui clôt le débat sur la durée de la transition. Du moins, au niveau national, car la CEDEAO n’a pas encore communiqué sur ce nouveau délai fixé après l’épuisement de celui de 18 mois préalablement accordé.
« Ce décret n’ouvre pas une nouvelle transition, il s’agit d’une prorogation », a commenté Abdoulaye Maïga, ministre porte-parole du gouvernement qui a lu le décret ce lundi 6 juin 2022, à la télévision nationale. Pour le ministre Maïga, ce décret qui fixe antérieurement le début de la transition montre la volonté des autorités de la transition de ne pas « s’éterniser au pouvoir ».
