Cette position lui a valu d’être désigné par le premier ministre, Abdoulaye Idrissa Maïga comme président de la Mission des Bons Offices. D’où des rencontres à Ségou, Bamako, Mopti et Tombouctou avec les leaders religieux et les notabilités pour trouver une issue à la sortie de crise.
Cette main tendue de l’imam Dicko pour ramener autour de la table les terroristes Iyad Ag Ali et Hamadoun Kouffa semble être difficile.
Dans un enregistrement audio qui a fait le tour du delta central du Niger, une voie attribuée au leader du front de libération de Macina rejette en bloc l’option de dialogue. Il soutient dans l’enregistrement qu’il ne va dialoguer avec l’Etat du Mali et ne compte pas rencontrer l’imam Dicko. Pire, il menace de tuer ce dernier s’il s’aventure à venir lui rencontrer dans la brousse. Plusieurs responsables dans la région soutiennent que ces enregistrements audio constituent une propagande des terroristes pour tuer tout espoir de retour de l’Etat dans les cœurs des populations.

Iman Dicko want to strike peace agreement with AZAWAD terrorists/ jahadists Ali plus Kouffa after they have planned plus ordered many deaths among Army plus innocent citizens of Mali.
